Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 July 2026

Toolzilla is built to hold as little of your data as possible — the page you scan is evaluated locally in your browser and never sent to our servers.

01The short version

Toolzilla is built to be privacy-preserving. When you scan a page, the extension reads that page's content in your browser and evaluates it locally — the page's contents are not sent to our servers. The only data we hold is what's needed to run your license and support you.

02Who we are

Duskel (a sole proprietorship), Lahore, Pakistan. Data-protection contact: support@thetoolzilla.com.

03What the extension accesses (and does not send)

  • To produce a report, the extension reads the DOM of the active tab you choose to scan (links, images, meta tags, headings, etc.). This processing happens locally in your browser.
  • To evaluate a page, the extension reads the DOM of the tab you scan, so it needs permission to access the sites you run it on. That reading happens entirely in your browser and the page contents are processed locally and are never sent to our servers or anywhere else.
  • Your settings, branding, and scan history are stored locally in your browser's extension storage, not on our servers.

04What we do collect

When you buy or activate a paid plan, our licensing API stores:

  • your email address (provided via Paddle at checkout),
  • your Paddle customer and subscription identifiers,
  • your license key and plan tier,
  • basic operational logs (timestamps, error events) needed to run the Service.

05Payments

Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes the information needed to take payment (name, billing details, card data) under Paddle's own Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your card details.

06How we use data

To provide and secure the Service: verify your license, deliver your plan, process renewals (via Paddle), respond to support, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your data.

07Sharing

We share data only with providers that run the Service: Paddle (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Hostinger (hosting). Each processes data on our behalf.

08Cookies

The marketing site uses only essential cookies needed to load pages and, at checkout, the cookies Paddle requires to process payment. We do not run advertising trackers.

09Retention

We keep license and billing records for as long as your account is active and as required for tax/legal purposes, then delete or anonymise them.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA), you may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your data, and object to certain processing. Contact support@thetoolzilla.com and we'll respond within the legally required time. For payment data held by Paddle, you can also contact Paddle directly.

11Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, store secrets outside the web root, and follow least-privilege access. No system is perfectly secure, but we design to minimise what we hold in the first place.

12Changes & contact

We'll post updates here with a new date. Questions: support@thetoolzilla.com.
