A conventional converter reads your file from disk, sends it over the wire, writes it to someone's storage, processes it, and — usually — deletes it on a schedule you are asked to trust. Four of those five are places a copy exists that you do not control.

Questions

If the tools are free, what is the business?
The Site Audit extension. The free tools run on your hardware, so they cost us bandwidth for a page load and nothing else. They exist because the people who need them are often the same people who later need the extension.
Do the video tools have limits?
No file-size tier, no daily cap, no watermark, no queue. The only real limit is your tab’s memory: multi-gigabyte 4K files can exhaust it, and that is a browser constraint rather than a plan.
What does the extension send anywhere?
Licence validation, and nothing else by default. Page content, screenshots and audit results stay in the browser. If you turn on shared team reports, the report you explicitly export is stored — that is opt-in and listed per report.
Which browsers are supported?
The video tools need WebCodecs: Chrome, Edge, Opera and recent desktop Firefox. The extension is Chrome and Edge today; Firefox is planned once the reporting API settles.
Can I use the tools offline?
Yes. Load the page once, then disconnect. Everything continues to work, which is the simplest proof that nothing is being sent.
